The football hypothesis
If the line stretches the front, Price can hit the cutback without workhorse volume.
OFFICIAL PLAY: NONE
Seattle’s official team reporting described plans to use Price in wide-zone and gap concepts. That supported an offensive-usage premise; it did not prove an advantage against a specific opponent.
What was known
The scheme fit was real.
Price’s one-cut acceleration offered a logical match for a run game designed to stretch the front horizontally and open a vertical crease.
What remained unknown
The opponent and workload gates were open.
Concept-specific defensive evidence, current personnel and Seattle’s distribution of carries were still required. A broad run-defense ranking would not have been enough.
Failure condition
No cutback, no angle.
The idea weakened if Seattle could not create movement, the defense closed the backside lane or the backfield rotation removed too many carries.
Predeclared benchmark
52 yards, 4.0 per carry, one 10+ gain.
The football-thesis benchmark and any sportsbook threshold were to be reviewed separately after the game.
